Towards a new edition The 16th edition of the Festival will take place from 11 to 22 October 2013 in Trento and other Italian cities.

THIS YEAR'S THEME: Visions. Reality and Utopia
The whole history of cinema has always revolved around the basic tension between reality and make-believe, right from its origins with Lumière and Méliès, passing through cinéma-verité to the current rivalry between fiction and documentaries, photography and computer graphics.
Similarly the history of religions is divided into an evolutionary process around the two focal points of belief and doubt, faith and facts. Reality and ideals chase each other through the history of mankind and in every conscience, like two faces of the same experience, two eyes of a three dimensional vision.
For its next edition the Religion Today Film Festival, through the most recent international cinema productions, seeks to capture the nuances of this tension, one which is particularly urgent in times such as these, times of a crisis of ideals, of waiting for a credible utopia.

The detailed programme will be announced below and updated regularly.

The programme of the last edition - 2012 headquarters: Trento and its province (Arco, Borgo Valsugana, Tuenno, Vezzano)

2012 THEME: Conflicts. Religions and (non-)violence In order to celebrate the important anniversary of fifteen years of the Festival, we would like to draw particular attention to that message of justice and peaceful coexistence, respectful of all our differences, which Iles at the heart of our cultural and social project.
To this end we have chosen the following theme for this year's edition: Conflicts. Religions and (non-)violence. Starting from the common perception that many wars and conflicts arise from ethnic and religious identity, the Festival intends to re-interpret this by emphasizing the positive role of religions as a vehicles for peace. To this end, the history of non-violence will be presented, both in terms of theory and practice, between eastern and western religions. At the same time it will be possible to examine the complex relationship between religions and (non-) violence more closely, starting from the condemnation of every fundamentalist temptation of obstinacy and narrow-mindedness, as opposed to such essential values as respect, mutual commitment, willingness to engage in dialogue. Finally, the discussion on the theme of the year seeks to highlight how peace, justice and the promotion of human rights are inextricably bound together.
