The true story of a deafblind teenager, Marie Heurtin, living in France at the end of the Nineteenth Century. Marie's father, a humble craftsman, cannot stand to close her in an asylum. In desperation, he brings her to the Institute of Larnay near Potiers, where young Sister Margaret, despite the skepticism of the Mother Superior, takes care of this "small wild animal" doing everything she can to lead her out of the darkness. Marie’s story is considered a miracle. The Larnay Institute is still open.
